Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson will make her Broadway debut in & Juliet with special remarks
In a highly anticipated moment in history, the U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ketanzi Brown Jackson will make her Broadway debut in a one-night-only special. Jackson at 8 p.m. The Tony Award-nominated premiere of Music & Juliet on Saturday, December 14 at the Stephen Sondheim Theater in New York.
The show is a milestone as Jackson becomes the first black Supreme Court justice ever to appear on the Broadway stage. Following the screening, attendees will have the rare opportunity to stay for a post-performance conversation with Judge Jackson, where he will share his experiences and thoughts on the intersection of law, culture and the arts.
Appointed by President Joe Biden in 2022, Justice Jackson made history as the first black woman to serve on the Supreme Court. This appearance in & Juliet adds another dimension to his underground career, further solidifying his role as a lead. It also depicts the story of Shakespeare’s Juliet & the current production of Juliet is one of Broadway’s most popular musicals.
