Category 7 Cancels First-Ever Tour Due to Low Ticket Sales

Category 7 cancels the first trip due to low ticket sales

Heavy metal supergroup Category 7 have canceled their highly anticipated debut tour, originally planned for summer 2025, citing low ticket sales.

The tour was intended to support the 2024 self-titled debut album. Notable musicians include Phil Demmel (ex-Machine Head, now with Kerry King), Mike Orlando (ex-Adrenaline Mob), John Bush (ex-Anthrax, now with Armored Saint), and Jason Bittner ( pre-Overkill, current and Shadows Fall), and Jack Gibson of Exodus.

A difficult decision
The group announced the cancellation on social media, explaining the financial constraints behind their decision:

“Due to fierce competition for live show dollars, we felt that our projected ticket sales would not be enough to make our tour profitable, so we made the painful decision to cancel our tour in March, ” they said.

They also found higher costs associated with Section 7 visits:

“While we had no illusions of making a huge profit, we would at least make the target. After talking to our agent and show promoters, this seemed unlikely.”

Looking ahead
Despite the setbacks, the team is hopeful that:

“We appreciate everyone who loves our music and will continue to find ways to bring live shows on the road,” they added.

Refunds for all ticket purchases, including VIP packages, will be processed promptly to ensure fans receive their money back before the holiday season.
